Having opened their doors in 2007 as the first cupcake shop in Edinburgh, Bibi’s bakery started selling only cupcakes. Today, there are many other tasty sweets on offer, like cakes for every occasion, macarons, and different types of fudge, as well as shortbread and gluten-free brownies. Special eyecatchers are definitely the colourful cupcake bouquets and the beautifully-decorated motif treats. Bibi’s offers a range of different toppings and flavours, the permanent ones being for example raspberry and white chocolate, cookies and cream, lemon cheesecake and banoffee.
Upon request, they also prepare gluten-free, dairy-free and vegan cupcakes. The prices are really fair since it’s all fresh and hand-made and there are special offers when you buy a larger quantity. All of Bibi’s sweets are take away only. The cupcakes we’ve tried were absolutely delicious and soft and the staff are really friendly. Although everything is made from scratch, they also sell baking mixtures for brownies so that you can bring the flavour of Bibi’s treats into your kitchen.
Insider tip: You can get one cupcake for £2.75, but it’s almost as filling as a full meal!
