The Banshee Labyrinth proclaims its self as the “most haunted pub in Scotland” and it’s easy to see why. Along with stories of Banshee screams and ghouls the very building has an eerie feel about it. The premises are cavernous, with the front section being part of a grand old town house which leads into old tunnels that were once used as prison cells.
This complex is huge comprising of 7 bars and even a cinema within. This huge space and its variety means there are many events on like karaoke, quizzes and open mic nights. Equally because of the sheer number of rooms and events on it means that it is popular with a wide variety of people.
This quirky family run spot has an easy-going vibe about it and its prices are very reasonable when compared to similar bars in the city, especially when you consider how close it is to the Royal Mile. However, even with its calm feel you are never more than a few meters from being reminded of this bar’s grizzly past.
